Plattekill
Fire Department, located in Southern
Ulster County and Northern Orange County, Known as
Company 47 is committed to protecting the lives and
property of the residents of the Hamlet of Plattekill and the Town of Newburgh. We protect 23
Square miles of a mostly resident ial
and Farming community. The Plattekill Fire
Department was formed in 1926 and was the first fire
department in the Town of Plattekill. The Plattekill
Fire District is bordered by 7 different fire
districts. Modena Fire and Rescue directly to the
North, Clintondale Fire Department to the North
East, Cronomer Valley Fire Department (Station 3) to
the South East, Dan Leghorn Engine Company (Orange
Lake) directly to the south, Marlboro Hose to the
East, Wallkill Hook, Ladder and Hose to the West and
New Paltz Fire Department due north (only on the NYS
Thruway).
We operate out of 2 Stations providing Fire and EMS
Emergency Services to two different counties, both
Ulster and Orange. Station #1 is located at 50 Old
fire House Road in the Hamlet of Plattekill and
Station #2 is located at 262 Forest Road in the Town
of Newburgh. We are Dispatched by Ulster County 911
for all alarms in Ulster or Orange Counties.
With
over 125 Members we instill into our membership that
they possess a strong desire to continue the
tradition of providing efficient Fire and EMS
services to those who reside or visit within the
boundaries of the Plattekill Fire District |
